Ellery's first job was to simply promote Farm Fresh Wild Blueberries from our farm which has been family owned since 1868. To do so, he sits proudly holding a basket of blueberries on signs, berry box labels, flyers, thank you notes, etc.

Ellery's second assignment was to become a holiday greeting, so, he dressed himself festively in a colorful stocking cap and wrapped his blueberries with a big
red holiday bow.

The third challenge for Ellery was a to find a way to promote and label our original antioxidant rich Bite O' Blue™ Wild Blueberry Dog Treat that is handmade here on Peaked Mountain Farm. That's when he enticed a puppy into the
Bite O' Blue™ logo with a couple of Wild Blueberry Dog Treats in his blueberry basket.

By the time Ellery was faced with developing a label for Peaked Mountain Farm's Sweet Wild Blueberry Apple Pickle, it was getting pretty easy for him to adapt to any situation. The addition of a bright red apple to his standard profile seemed to fit the bill.

What's next for Ellery?
Well, as you can see, he's now wearing a chef's hat. That's because he is planning to cook up some of his favorite Peaked Mountain Farm family recipes that are featured in the 2006 Peaked Mountain Farm cookbook.

Our logo, Ellery, the Peaked Mountain Bear, was inspired by a real bear who visits our farm. He was named "Ellery" in a naming contest in 2003 as he lives on Ellery's Lane. Ellery's Lane was named for a second generation owner of Peaked Mountain Farm, Ellery Turner Gray. So, Ellery is the perfect name for this perfectly suited character to represent Maine's Wild Blueberries from our farm. Ellery was created by Gail VanWart, fourth generation and a present owner of the farm and has become a recognizable trademark for Peaked Mountain Farm that shows up in various forms on product labels, promotions, and greetings.
